Commercial tanning beds are typically sold by Sales Reps who are constantly on the road, visiting beauty/hair/personal salons and spas. The sales cycle for commercial beds is typically longer than that for an at-home bed because salons need to be certain that their investment will reap the rewards they desire, and that they will not be faced with downtime and poor performance.

With both home and commercial sales, wholesale tanning beds are part of the different tiers of distribution. A manufacturer typically won’t deal direct, instead they offer wholesale prices to their outlets in various geographic regions.

Used tanning beds for sale are most commonly found on online auction/classified sites and also in local/national newspaper classifieds. Most people will (or at least should) look to buy as local as possible, because tanning beds are heavy and don't transport too well. Transporting a used bed over a long distance can result in damaged to the shell and to the electronics and lamps inside the bed, so again, it is wise to buy as 'local' as possible.
