Used Tanning Beds
Buying a used tanning bed can save you $100's if not $1000's, but it could also cost you just as much. You see there are numerous reasons why people sell their tanning beds, and some unscrupulous people will be selling their because it is a dud and doesn't work properly, and in most cases there will be no warranty to fall back on, so you need to do your homework. But others will be selling their used tanning beds because they are moving, or perhaps their tanning salon has gone out of business. Whatever the case, the same rules apply for buying anything second-hand.... do your research.
Used tanning beds and cheap tanning beds are normally one and the same thing. A brand new cheap tanning bed is more than likely a trashy brand, but a used cheap tanning bed can be a really good brand that is cheap because someone is in a hurry to get rid of it. Cheap tanning beds can be really good brands and can give you years of use without needing repairs or new bulbs, but again, you need to do some serious research.
There's a few key points to take note of when looking for used tanning beds:
- First, almost all of them will be available immediately, so you won't be waiting for delivery, and that's a big PLUS because some new beds takes 4-6 weeks for delivery.
- Next you should research formus etc to see what people have said about that brand/model. If it is a brand/model that has a legacy of poor reviews and problems, it should only take you only a few minutes to unearth negative feedback.
- Investigate to see if the warranty is transferable to a new owner (if the warranty hasn't expired already).
- Transporting a used tanning bed is very important too. New beds are packaged professionally to cater for even rough transportation, so you need to be overly cautious of how you transport your used tanning bed. Buying locally could saving you from damaging your used tanning bed while transporting it.
- Finally, and this point is very important, you should demand that the owner's manual comes with the purchase, and if there is any other documentation that came with the original purchase, you should request at least a copy of that too.
You definitely need to be careful when buying used tanning beds. Do your research, don't get too impatient, and demand to see the bed in action.
